I chose this topic because I want something to do with nature and see the wonders of growing plants and because my grandparents are really good gardeners gardeners and know a lot about plant and what is good for then and what is bad for them and how to fertilize plants and my nan is really good at scientific stuff. It will be tested so it is a fair science experiment.
Aim:
Which Substance will make a Plant grow faster Compost, Soil or Water or Sand in a 3 Week Length?
This needs to be re-written Carter as I have NO idea what you are doing.
Hypothesis
I think that the Plant planted in soil will not grow the biggest because soil needs Sun and Water to grow but because it will only get a few drops of water it will not grow but I think that the Compost plant will grow the fastest because the plant will gather nutrients and it will have the power to grow the biggest.
This needs to be re-written so that it matches your aim.
Materials
1x Bag of Potting Mix (Soil)
3x Plant Shoots or Seeds (You can use slow growing seeds or fast growing seeds)
1x 84ml Cup
3x Butter Containers
1x Compost
1x Sand
1x Ruler
Method
1. Gather the Equipment required
2. Fill a container with Water and place the shoot or Seed in the container. After that add a another container of Soil and then add a third container of Compost and add a fourth container of sand.
3. Plant Seeds just above the surface of the Substance(About 2-3cm Deep)
4. Each day Water give each substance 84mls of Water each day. Continue doing this each day for the 2 weeks.
5. Observe for 2 weeks and Record which plant has made a turn out and which one hasn't. {The way to check if the plant has not made a turn out is if it is the smallest or brown and less leaves than the other plants}
6. Record Results into table below.
A good start Carter but you need to make your methodology much clearer. e.g. how fair do you put the plants. How much water? etc.
