The great pyramids of Egypt are one of the seven wonders of the world. The pharaohs of Egypt built the pyramids because of great story's that were passed down from one family to other family and then the story was passed down thought generations of Egypt. The Pyramids of Egypt are like passages to the heavens. They also believed that when the King or Queen died they become gods up in the sky.

History

The first pyramid was built by The Pharaoh Djoser it was built in 2611BC and was finished in 2630BC it took 19 years to complete. The first pyramid was a step pyramid. It was located in Saqqara Desert. The pyramids were made over a series of years these are some of the other pyramids built though the years. The year is when it was built. Maidum Pyramid Built by Pharaoh Snefru in the year 2600BC. It was original height was going to be higher than it is now. The Great Pyramid Of Giza Built By Pharaoh Khufu in the year 2550BC. It height was 481 feet tall the tallest pyramid on earth. Khufu enslaved people and made them build his pyramid. Pyramid Of Khafre Built by Pharaoh Khafe in the year 2520BC. His father was Khufu who built massive pyramid even thought Khafe did not have a big pyramid like his father it was the second largest in the world. Pyramid Of Menkaur Built by Pharaoh Menkaur in the year 2490BC. It was a small pyramid maybe because there were no spaces left in Egypt or maybe the cost was to high to make a big pyramid. Pyramid Of Pepi II Built by Pharaoh Pepi II in the year 2250. This was the last ever Egyptian pyramid built Pepi II was the last pharaoh of Egypt. Before Romans took over.

Construction

The builders must construct the pyramid before the pharaohs death. But If they did not they will fail not only the gods but the pharaoh as well. The first pharaoh believed that when he died his spirit would join the gods in the sky and also he could watch over his people. The construction took a long time the pyramid would have to be made of granite but Egypt had hardly any granite so they had to travel out of Egypt and then carry it back to the pyramid it was so heavy it took sometimes at leased a week. They had wooden sleights to carry the blocks up onto the level that needs it.

The builders of the pyramid had a restless life building pyramids they would have to work every day each day they complete one support at a time. The only tool they have a hammers, Sleights and other items. Granite was the main resource to make the pyramid but Egypt had no granite so they had to travel out of Egypt with their sleight and mine it the location of the granite is currently unknown in Egypt. Then return for it to be made into blocks. To make a burial chamber needless work the had hammers they would have to smash thought the ground to make a burial chamber even thought they normally build one chamber building two would be a challenge.

Burial Grounds/Traps

The burial ground was the pharaoh final resting place before he was placed in the pyramid he had to be mummified he had all his/her guts pulled out and placed in special jars that kept that guts alive. The villagers would also place food and gold everything that the pharaoh would need in his afterlife. Tomb raiders were the main problem the Egyptians would make a series of traps like fake Burial grounds, walls that block the entrance of the burial ground, quick sand and other traps. The villagers of the pharaoh would have to lower the blocking walls and then die with the pharaoh but some villagers built little exits to escape out of.

The burial ground the final resting place of the pharaoh had traps to protect it form harm. The villagers of Egypt built burial grounds for the pharaoh to rest in and they built vents for the pharaohs soul to go up to the heavens it was like a transporter that takes the pharaohs soul up into the heavens and he becomes a god. Some of traps are most interesting for example the blocking wall was a main trap to keep out tomb raiders but some times the raiders got thought and stole all the pharaohs treasures the blocking wall was lowered by villagers but the villagers would have to dye with the pharaoh but when Khufu was buried they made little exits to escape and then they would seal it from the outside there by blocking the pyramid for ever. The other traps where traps like quick sand or spears that come out of walls and stab people in the head and there are a whole lot of other traps that kill people.

The is what the Egyptians did to protect the pharaoh what tools they used to make the pyramids what resources used to make a pyramid how to build the pyramids and the history of the great pyramids of Egypt. The age they lived thought that traps and every other job they had to do to make the pyramids perfect. Now the great Egyptian pyramids are no more in the dark they are now one of the seven wonders of the worlds and they are the main wonders of people around the world.

• Punctuation (full stops)
• Mainly simple sentences. Try to modify your paragraphs to include some compound sentences (joined with and or but etc) or be brave and attempt a complex sentence structure.
